Woodville Parish Council Serving the people of Woodville

Cllr Eric Parker

Cllr Eric Parker

I was born in Newhall and lived there until I was 19 years old and then got married and moved to Woodville. I left school at 15 and I began my working life down the nearby Cadley Hill Pit as a pony driver.

Leaving the pit at 18 years old I wen through numerous jobs and at the ripe old age of21 I ended up working for the Albion Clay Company for eight years in the Kiln Gang. I then moved on within the company to Hepworth Pipes as a truck driver where I travelled extensively throughout Europe learning the german language along the way. I worked with the same company for 37 years then retired in 2000 with ill health.

I have 2 daughters both went to Woodville School and I also have 3 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. We have lived in the same house in Woodville for 45 years and resided in Woodville for the last 50 plus years.

I have been on the parish council for over three years and have serious concerns about dog fouling, the increase of traffic on High Street and the amount of house building around us. Having said that I think Woodville is a fantastic place to live and I wouldn't live anywhere else.
